This Church was organized in the year 1847 or 1848 and immediately
became a member of the Association. She was located across the Ohio
River from Newburgh, Indiana, in territory now belonging to Henderson
County. Her name was taken from the small village in which she was
located.

As the records of the Association are lost prior to 1850, we have
no information as to her early progress. She reported 17 members in 1850
and 21 in 1851. No report is given for 1852 and 1853 and in consequence
of this the Association appointed Elder I. R. Allen and Brethren
William Chatham and C. T . Noel to investigate. They reported the
Church extinct and her name was dropped from the roll in 1854. G. W .
Knight was the clerk of the Church during her brief history. No record
of the pastor has been found.

Several efforts on the part of the Associational Missionary were made
after this to revive the work here but all came to naught.
