Amos Smedly was an African-American restaurant and boarding house owner in Owensboro circa 1890. His establishment was located at 208 West Main
Street, and served both the colored and white populations. Smedly was injured in the Colored Passenger Excursion Train Wreck on June 5, 1892 at South Carrollton, KY.
