The 1886 directory lists Miss Lena Jones as the local School teacher. S.M. Lockhardt is the doctor. Groceries and liquors could be purchased from A. Montgomery and S.R. Tolle. J.M. Wilhite is the only blacksmith in town. Local farmer William Lostutter is also a member of the Kentucky Legislature. The post office for this town was Owensboro.
