Burwell Clark Ritter, (uncle of Walter Evans), a Representative from Kentucky; born near Russellville, Barren County, Ky., January 6, 1810; received a limited schooling; member of the State house of representatives in 1842 and 1850; elected as a Democrat to the Thirty-ninth Congress (March 4, 1865-March 3, 1867); was not a candidate for renomination in 1866; engaged in agricultural pursuits; died in Hopkinsville, Christian County, Ky., October 1, 1880; interment in Hopewell (later known as Riverside) Cemetery.

He represented Daviess County in Congress.
