Joel H. Early, farmer and stock-raiser, one mile west of Knottsville, was born in Ohio County, Ky., April 8, 1846. His father, Lewis S. Early (deceased), was a native of Fayette County, Ky., and came to Ohio County in 1844, and to this county with his family in 1854. Our subject was reared on a farm, and received a common-school education. He was married March 22, 1866, to Miss Lucy J., daughter of Johnson Miller. She was born in Daviess County. They have four children – Margaret E., Joseph S., Armilda E. and James W. Mr. Early is a member of the Baptist church. He owns 116 acres of land.
