George Helm Yeaman, a Representative from Kentucky; born in Hardin County, Ky., November 1, 1829; completed preparatory studies; studied law; was admitted to the bar in 1852 and commenced practice in Owensboro, Ky.; judge of Daviess County in 1854; member of the State house of representatives in 1861; elected as a Unionist to the Thirty-seventh Congress to fill the vacancy caused by the death of James S.
