This was a small grist-mill, run by water-power, situated on Panther
Creek, ten miles southwest of Owensboro. It was built by
Jonathan Barnett about 1847. He ground corn in it for several
years, and then sold to Ebenezer Cawhorn, who rebuilt the entire
mill. It was afterward owned by Samuel Vanover, who added a
saw-mill, and ran it for several years in connection with the corn mill. It was later owned by Henry Vanover, and was used only for
grinding corn.
