Described in the Owensboro Examiner on April 9, 1875 as lying 2 miles below Sorghotown to the right of Panther Creek, extending down Green River to Calhoun’s or Hazelwood’s Ferry, and covers a area of about 2 ½-3 miles. The soil was above average, undulating and mostly sugar tree land, very adaptable to growing tobacco.
